Topic: MIT's robo-cheetah   Go to last post

But what's the application? There are remotely piloted planes that can more accurately drop larger munitions, boots on the ground are quieter and require less energy, and this thing is years out from being smart enough to walk over uneven ground, let alone a forest or mountain. Let's not even talk about communications, how are you going to talk to it in a cave or under dense foliage?

I'm not saying it has no application, but the technology isn't advanced enough to warrant millions of dollars to fund it.

Military applications for this kind of thing are surprisingly low. Plus, only major countries have anything near EMP burst technology, and if a war with them starts, this robot-cheetah won't be squat.

Still haven't upgraded any system to Windows 10 because of ask if the negative reviews I'm seeing, and Ads are fine so long as they're neither obstructive nor annoying. I just don't want Facebook Ads or some BS like that on my home screen.
