Oculus! Get your S* together so we can merge both of these techs together. Super VR. I know that it might be limited to a kind of rail system at first due to the fact that you can't walk or run outside of the bounds of the gaming space, but the potential... First person shooters, free running, magical incantations with hand motions. Don't worry, SAO and ".hack//": your day is coming.
Just to clarify, is that starting on January of 2015 or 2014? That aside, this is a very nice move by Microsoft.
I have my computer set for streaming, my back-up set for holding parts and cooling, and my living room set for whatever delicacy Steam plans on setting before me. This will be a good holiday season for gaming, no matter what Sony and Microsoft try to do.
My two 670's are waiting to get the scooch down the bench to my old computer (pending reviews and benchmarks for the 9000 series). If the 7990 is anything to go by, the only game that I will not be able to play at max settings will be Batman. Pretty exciting stuff.
Well isn't that just sweet of them.
Desktop PC for the past few years and haven't looked back except for exclusives... that any of my console friends will gladly let me play. I preferred EB Games and they sucked pretty bad. Locally owned and operated game stores are okay for trades and finding old games and consoles, but they quickly run into the "ebay has the same thing and they'll ship it to me" competition. The two new consoles, as anybody on this forum knows, are just underpowered last gen PC's with almost identical specs. Whatever... It's not my money being wasted.
While I am hoping to see a solid fix for the authentication for saves implemented soon, I will not be sorry to see that terrible service go away.
I imagine that the steam community response will be one of "meh", as the game library on steam is just ridiculously large. Also, I don't see very many software companies having 60-90% off sales all over the year. Valve will stay high on its throne. (Though, there are maybe six or seven games that I wouldn't have minded returning)
I did punch a good dent into one of my old monitors when it blue screened for the 100 somethingth time. Found out later that it was caused by faulty DIMM slots on my board... I won't go into what happened those.
For reference, the GTX 780 is currently going for anywhere from $650-700. If you have the money, hey. Though I also agree with you on that "Still $700".
