Topic: Looking for new AMD Raedeon Graphics Card. NEED HELP!   Go to last post

I am personally waiting for the 9XXX series GPU's to come out in Q4 this year.

Otherwise you could possibly get a 7990?
Though I'm always a big fan of waiting for next generation just to be safe.

Don't know if that helps you at all.

Not that I'm even going to buy one of the next gen consoles... But most of the true gamers seem to be switching to Sony.

And I have seen a few surveys that didn't pan out too well for Microsoft.

If I did buy a console it would be the PS4 (and I've been an Xbox fanboy for years). They have nearly the same stats but the PS4 is slightly better for less and you don't have to have the camera all the time, not like I'm paranoid about being watched it just seems like something else to clutter my TV stand.

I'm not willing to drop $1K on a CPU. :-\

I'm normally a big fan of AMD but if I ever did buy a CPU this powerful I would most likely buy intel. It's upsetting to see this price so high.

Though I have yet to see the benchmark comparison of the CPU with an intel CPU with equivalent price... That may sway me a bit.

I really wish these were more affordable. I was hoping they would be a decent alternative to intel's high end i7's, but at $1,000 you might as well get a 6-core i7. :(

How would these do in a HTPC build and which one would you recommend for an HTPC build?

Also, do these run quieter than most AMD chips out there? I'd like to build a cool and quiet HTPC with some power behind it.

That has to be the snazzies BIOS I have ever seen. Looks very user friendly. I hate navigating through some BIOS, can be a pain.

I've heard nothing but good things about XBMC and I plan on using that once I get my HTPC up and running. All of my friends swear by it.

I just want something that can sort by genre or other variables, so I might be easily won over.

I personally like AMD, you don't really need a strong CPU for gaming and I feel as though I get more bang for my buck with AMD. Though the stock coolers can be loud you can always upgrade to a water cooling block.

I've heard good things about Chromebooks, my buddy has 3 of them. They're basically an android device mixed with a laptop. Great for couch surfing/youtubing I've been debating getting one for the longest time.
