I'm torn - it would be nice if we had data on how many terrorist activities this sort of thing might have prevented, and/or lives saved.

Just to clarify something with regards to the Fire HD 7, it doesn't have the Mayday button. The official reason for its omission from Amazon's FAQ is:

"Kindle Fire HD doesn’t have a microphone or compatible hardware, which is required to use Mayday."

Out of curiosity, I checked my stepdaughter's iPhone 6 Plus, which is what we used for the video portion of our review. Since then, she's dropped it a few times, had it in her back pocket, and more recently put it in a case. There's not the slightest hint of a bend -- it lays completely flat.

There's also this tidbit from a Reuters article posted last month:

"Legere also said that the ratio of subscribers moving from rival Sprint Corp to T-Mobile was 17 to 1 at the height of T-Mobile's Contract Freedom campaign, a promotion launched in January, whereby the company pays early termination fees for subscribers who switch to its network.

The ratio of customers moving from Sprint to T-Mobile is now around 2.3 to 1, Legere said."

The numbers suggest otherwise. Regardless of T-Mobile's coverage (which, btw, isn't that great in my area, hence why I'm currently with Sprint), they've been killing it. In fact, T-Mobile just had its biggest subscriber growth period ever, adding 2.3 million subscribers in Q3. There's no doubt that a good chunk of Sprint's defectors ended up at T-Mobile.

To clarify, we don't know if Samsung will call its next phone the S6. It's just easier to refer to it that way for now until we know what's in store.

Bendgate got blown out of proportion. But regardless of that, we didn't detect any structural weaknesses in the iPad Air 2. Just the opposite -- it feels like a solid, premium device. So to answer your question, thinner is better because it's less bulk while remaining structurally sound. I'd also argue that there's room for improvement -- it's still a bit too heavy to hold one-handed for any length of time, like you can do with a similarly sized magazine.

Surprisingly, Sprint already pushed out an OTA update to Lollipop for my HTC One (M7) -- installed it about a week ago.
