Hmmmm...they just might really need to have video cards in their own little enclosure with their own power supplys outside the computer case or it's own seperate compartment in the case with a mini power supply.

It's even worse that an adult was doing the bullying in this case.

At best I would charge the adult with unintentional manslaughter. I would almost charge the adult with murder but it would be hard to prove that the mother intended to cause enough emotional harm to cause the girl to kill herself.

It looks like the days of the keyboard and mouse are numbered but what will take their place?

Microsoft has their touch based interface that seems to be good but will it "crash" on your fingers?

Speach recognition is getting better but will your computer be as stubborn as your wife or husband? "COMPUTER I TOLD YOU TO TAKE OUT THE RECYCLE BIN!"

You can always strap a sensor band around your head and just think what you want, but do you want your thoughts broadcast? Talk about a Freudian slip!

So will one of these, several of these, or another interface method take over for the good old keyboard and mouse?

How long does the keyboard and mouse have left to be in mainstream use? 5,10, 20 30 years, more?

I don't want to be in the "Home of the Blues" I would be "So Doggone Lonesome" there, please "Don't Make Me Go" or I'll "Cry, Cry, Cry". But I "Guess Things Happen That Way" but "What Do I Care" so long as you "Don't Take Your Guns to Town" well be ok.

Well I guess I better end this post it's raining here and the creek is "Five Feet High and Rising" so "Goodbye Little Darlin" "It's Just About Time" for me to go and "Katy Too" so "Thanks a Lot" I'll see you "Down the Street to 301".

I think I used too many song titles the moderators may not like that. I'm "In the Jailhouse Now" and it's as "Dark as a Dungeon" in here singing the "Folsom Prision Blues". O well the moderators my not be so bad because "Everybody Loves a Nut" and I'm "Happy to Be with You" and just to be a "Long-Legged Guitar Pickin' Man" and "A Boy Named Sue".

Phew! [6]

Cool. I'm getting a 650W Corsair power supply for the rig I'm building, it should fit nicely in the Antec 900 case I got. Sould have no problems running a 9900 GT or 4850 without burning off half the power coming from the wall as heat before it even gets to the video card, CPU, and Hard drive. [:P]

I see in the ATX 12V 2.3 spec they only have 70% as a requirement.

Direct X 10.1 is an incremental update of Direct3D 10.0 which is shipped with, and requires Windows Vista Service Pack 1.This release mainly sets a few more image quality standards for

graphics vendors, while giving developers more control over image

quality.

It also requires a whole new set of requirements, including Shader

Model 4.1 and 32-bit floating-point operations. It also supports single pass AA and Cubed Map Arrays. Direct3D 10.1 still

fully supports Direct3D 10 hardware, but to be able to support all the

features you need a card with the required hardware.

I will see how the 4850 competes in price/preformance/power requirements with the upcomeing GT200 (9900 GT, GTS, GTX??) from Navida and get one of the two for the rig I'm building. I'll set my budget at about $225-250. I wont be able to get a video card until September or October so mabe they will drop a few bucks for the Christmas rush.

I am working on building my rig and I'm now to the power supply. I have an Antec 900 case.

I will only have one video card and most likely will not overclock the CPU or GPU. I will most likely get an ATI 4870 or Navida GT200 (9900 GT, GTS, GTX?????). I most likely get two hard drives and four gigabytes of DDR2 800 memory.

I will most likely will also get a 600-700 watt power supply with at least 50 amps on a single 12V rail.

Most of the power supplies I have looked over are ATX 12V version 2.2 but I see the newest version is 2.3. Is there much of a difference between the two versions? I've looked up these standards but have not be able to find much information other than it complies with new Intel and AMD standards, but what are these standards? Will a version 2.2 power supply run a quad core CPU later on when I upgrade from a dual core CPU?

I see some recomendations here for cheaper and very pricey power supplies but what about something in the middle. I want to spend about $125 or less. This is the one I'm looking at now: http://www.newegg.com/Pr...px?Item=N82E16817139005. Thank you for your help.

This is just like the MHz race of years past. All this is for are for the people who only know how to turn a computer on a run MS Word and iTunes. Just like in the MHz wars all these people know is a bigger number is better so to market to these people they give them a bigger number to oogle at. And just like in the MHz wars these people don't know the drawbacks of haveing just a bigger number without factoring in other variables.

Next up we will sell you a Geo Metro with 50" tires.....bigger number is better. But if enough people buy the card because it has a bigger number on the box and makes it profitable to do so then I guess thats good marketing. For those of us "in the know" we know better than to judge a book by it's bigger number.
