hi all,

anyone and everyone please help.

i am building my dream computer and im leaning towards the dell2707wfp monitor.

i will be using a pc , xbox360 and wii on this monitor (or at least the pc and xbox).

i will have the pc through dvi the xbox360 through vga and the wii through component.

now i will have logitech z540's or better for speakers and i need them to work for all the machines audio.

how can i achieve this obviously the pc ha[censored]ard audio card with 5.1 signal (green /orange / black plugs).

the xbox360 has red and white rca cables and so does the wii.

if these speakers arent good enough then im willing to pay some more for better ones but i want 5.1 audio from the wii xbox and pc to go to the same speakers.

if theres any other ways to plug the connections like optical or something (im no audio guru) please let me know.

thanks.

26" LCD Battle SAMSUNG or SONY

hi just wondering cant make up my mind on which to choose both have their advantages heres the main specs check the links for full set of details.

1. SAMSUNG 26 Inch LCD TV LA26R71BDX

1366x768 16:9

3000:1(how do i no if this is real figure i hope so)

500cd/m2

720p/1080i

8ms refresh rate

EPG/DVB-T

i can get this set for $1236.90

PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE TO CHECK DETAILS

www.samsung.com/au/produ...e=Specifications

2. SONY 26" S SERIES BRAVIA LCD TV KLV26S200

1366x768 16:9

1200:1(less than samsung)

500cd/m2

i dont know if its 720p etc..

8ms refresh rate

EPG/DVB-T depending**

**one model has the inbuilt tuner like the samsung dvb-t but costs $1460

**one model without tuner just screen $1210

i wont need tuner because i will be using the screen with pc tv tuner card but as a bonus why not.

PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE TO CHECK DETAILS

www.sony.com.au/homecine...ategoryId=34643#

so theres the three options

1.samsung with tuner $1236.90

2.sony with tuner $1460

3.sony without tuner $1210

please give me opinion advice or suggestions of better value lcd tvs

thanks

It's going to be way more expensive, but you should get an lcd tv for your 360 instead of a pc monitor.
The stupid problem with the 360 is it doesn't support 16:10 rez's, so everything will be stretched. Games will look much more aliased and it just doesn't look right. With lcd tv's, most of them are 16:9, and can stretch the picture much better than a pc's monitor.

yeah i no wat u mean about the stretching of xboxs 16:9 to a 16:10 monitor but i wanted to ask if u were to use an lcd for both xbox 360 and pc which is better off

1. usnig and lcd tv 16:9 which will be good for 360 but stretchy for pc(is there a way to support 16:9 with pc's)

or

2. using a lcd monitor 16:10 which will be fine for pc but stretch for 360(obviously 360 dont support 16:10)

hi guys ive searched and researched and i still dont know any lcd gurus out there please help!!!

anyway what i want to do is find out what are the best options for lcd tvs as a screen for my future gaming/multimedia rig + xbox360 +wii what i want is a bigger than normal lcd tv like say at least 22" max proble 30-32" preferably 24-26" still havnt decided but i want good reccomendations on the following basis well start off saying money is an object just to talk about quality and i want the fastest response time in a lcd tv the letdown of using a tv would be response time fastest ive seen is 8ms is there any other reasons why i shouldnt go for a lcd tv over a monitor other than rsponse time i also wanted to no is it possible to get 1080p in that size what is the smallest size to have 1080p if not then what do u guys think is better 1080i or 1080p

also obviously if you get either a monitor or tv there will be scaling but what i wanted to no is is the scaling of playing xbox wii dvds etc on a lcd computer monitor better or worse than the scaling of using a pc playing pc game on a lcd tv

p.s i will be playing with hdmi connection

ill continue after some replies thanks guys

umm any links or prices for those monitors

however I've seen card #4 for less $$$ - core = 9mhz slower, but memory = 160mhz faster = slightly better card/value.

where did u see that cheaper link??
