I think colossus was quite a bit bigger than this one (as the name suggests). They might both use valve transistors tho..?

'it'll be worth every penny. er, pence.'

It's okay- we use the term 'penny' all the time ;)

I'm a big fan of the Antec cases (have a P182); the new P193 looks amazing, and has great expansion potential and air filters/fans all around.

As for PSUs, I'm no expert, so I'll let someone else chime in. For the record, I've got a BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro, and it's fantastic- modular, almost silent, and the fans run for a while after power down to keep it cool.

It should pick it up automatically once you have iTunes installed. I understand from your other thread that you have installed linux on you iPod (probably unsupported being an Apple product)- this may be the problem. I have no idea how you'd go about resetting it, but maybe someone in a mac forum could help you out.

Thanks guys.

I'll make sure I check my documents too- i usually just copy that folder anyway, so any saved games files will be present in the new installation.

I've used AVG antivirus free edition for years- never had a virus/malware etc (touch-wood).

The poor guy was pretty messed up, but then again he never stood a chance, being forced into [censored]z at 5 years old. I don't know many child stars in acting that didn't turn out pretty messed up. It happens time and time again.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned he wrote and performed some of the most iconic music that will ever exist. I don't see how he can ever be matched- and that of course had a lot to do with the times, and how his fusion of different genres worked falwlessly. We've lost a real musical talent- arguably a genius- and we should all recognise what he did for music in the 20th century.

And a quick note on his personal life (if it can be called that)- the guy didn't stand a chance, and it's a real shame to see a human self-destruct like that. The media egged him on no end, as it always does. He was made out to be a monster, just like Britney Spears is too (not that I'm comparing the two on an artistic level..), and I bet most people would mess up just like he did in the same circumstances- the surgeries and bizarre behaviour were attributable to his crippling shyness and self-consciousness (don't forget the damage done by his horrible father), and driven more and more by his worsening appearance. And as for the child-molestation stuff, the man was found not guilty on all counts, and as far as I knew a person is always innocent until proven guilty- but people won't let that go either, because of course if you throw enough mud at a person, some of it's bound to stick.

Don't judge the guy by the state of his face, judge him on his contribution as an artist, and the message he was trying to spread.

Excellent. I didn't think there'd be a problem, but copying program files can be a little iffy so I wanted to make sure.

So, I'm considering a fresh W7 RC installation as my primary OS (have been dual booting with Vista 64 and W7 for a while, and am ready to take the plunge...I think).

All of my media is located on a separate HDD, and my docs are backed up, but my question is, can I copy my Steam apps folder onto a separate HDD in order to keep all my games and custom maps/mods etc for after the clean OS installation? Then just paste the whole folder back into the Steam folder when it's been reinstalled. I really can't bare the thought of having to download ALL of my games again after the new OS is installed... I have a few of the games on disc, so obviously that's not a problem, but it's just the games that I bought online. I don't want to download them again...
