I used to custom build systems and would love to come to this site and post and post and post even with advice and help others with hardware and software issues. However I do not have time to game anymore now that I have 3 kids and one more on the way. I know it has been a while but I thought I'd post here anyway. This is a question relating to RDC, Terminal Services and their relation with group policy. I have the remote desktop setting enabled in group policy that make the PC's on the network have remote desktop working. But recently the last couple of months I have noticed for remote desktop to work there is now a 2nd remote desktop checkbox that has appeared that now needs to be enabled in the firewall. I already have this enabled in GP. Is there anything else I can do? Did this get thrown in with a update? I can manually enable it but I am too busy. Any help wold be appreciated.
I have 2 cards exactly the same except for one thing...memory on one is Hynix and memory on the other are sammy's. They are both XFX 8600 GT's but one is the xxx version being overclocked some. The one with the samsung is the overclocked. My question is should I flash the slower one? I plan on doing a SLI with these....what do you guys think? And which one should I make the "daddy" card?
I have been doing IT support for close to 9 years steadily and now all of the sudden I am collecting unemployment. This sucks.....anyone know of any companies in Utah that are hiring? I have 9 years experience in Network administration and desktop support. Let me know guys....
It uses PC100..but I have lots of that.....how high will it read?...on the PC side most of those system did not read more than 512.
thx for the insight...do you think it is a good enough machine to learn Unix?
I know my way around a MAC OS pretty well but know nothing of the hardware....someone gave me a G4 Quicksilver model with 512 RAM, 933 MHZ Proc...ect.....how far can I go in hardware changes with processor, Ram, MB, Video etc.....? what do I need to look for on parts? Or should I just bag it and let the kids use it?
I actually do not have this system anymore. I traded it for a .280 Ruger rifle and a Remmington 870 Shotgun. I think I did pretty well!!!![;)]
thx guys....good to know I'm still good to go with my system.
OKOK.....last year I was laid off. I had just finished my rig prior to me being let go. I found a job but the first year required me to be out of town the first year. Now that part is over I have not paid much attention to what all is out there. As I look around and see the new i7's. I'm wondering how long I will be able to get away with what I have.
Here is the rig:
Case: Gigabyte Aroura 3D(now called SUMO)
Enermax 650 watt PS
MB: Asus Strkier Extreme
RAM: Corsair XMS2 1066 Dominator(4gigs)
Video: Two Gigabyte 8800GTX 640 MB(running sli) and one 8500 designated for physx
HD: Two 36 Gig Raptors and one 150 gig raptor
Optical: one Sony and one Plextor
6 in one card reader
Windows Vista Home Premium is the OS.
Don't get me wrong.....I think she is lean and mean....but how much longer could I push this to get my money's worth?
Ok here is the skinny......I have a network with 10 users utilizing a 2003 network server. Well this user decided to install blackbery software and the next thing I know, the email account is jacked up a ton on the server and have to recreate him from scratch. I backed up his data from the server to the local machine only to find out that his machine is hammered and his data is corrupt. I wacked the profile and the backup on the server has already overwritten the previous backup with the "my documents" files along with it. Can I get thiem back at all? Any tools available to get data back from a overwritten backup?
