what kind of headphones do you have? I use my computer for studio recording and know that headphone outputs on computers arent strong enough for high end headphones. I cant even use any of my studio headphones on portable cd players or anything because of power issues. So you'll prolly need a headphone amp, which isnt THAT expensive....

YOU'RE SAYING AMD FOR MULTITASKING?!? Dual Core, YES. For single core computing, NO WAY. I've had tip amd rigs and top intel rigs and there's no way in a single core envioronment that AMD's are CLOSE to as stable, smooth or fast in multimedia multitasking.

I would've said intel dual cores cuz 4 virtual procs would be nice, but the archetechture of the AMD dual core chipsets are SO DAMNED EFFICIENT. Plus, intel doesnt enable hyperthreading in ALL the dual cores, just the high end ones.

Ok. I made a thread about what difference would running winXP Pro vs. WinXP home make on a rig. BUT, after doin some digging and some thinking, I was wondering. Hyperthreading is supposed to EMULATE a 2nd physical processor on your system. Well, Winxp HOME does NOT support dual proc setups. BUT, PRO DOES. So, would that warrant any performance gain for a hyperthreaded p4 to run on win pro instead of home since pro has native dual proc support anyway??

is it worth it to upgrade from winXP home to Pro if you have pro?
