Wait so I cant get justin bieber's new album for free?
I was always wary of results like the ones Google are targeting to down rank for fear of them being malicious. This could kill two birds with one stone. Three if you consider how much labor Google probably has to put into handling all the DMC notices they must get.
I'm a spotify user and haven't even thought of downloading music in a couple years. It's some of the best $10/m I've spent. Up there with Netflix and Hulu.
Goodluck with that
If google is getting involved then you know its about to get serious.
Well,there is Bing.
The death of Google ! 2015
meh, me download straight from youtube
"it might soon be easier for pirates to go legit than it will be to continue looking up illegally distributed content". yeah, no. no self respecting pirate uses a normal search engine for free downloads of anything, they use torrent search engines. this affects only dumb pirates that don't know what they're doing. Pro tip - use peerblock and/or vpn.
When will the music industry realize that there isn't enough money to be made with album releases anymore. Switch to a free model so your music reaches more people and drives up concert ticket and merch sales; but don't force it down peoples throats like U2 did.
i can taste the censorship already
In other news, Google to modify search results to fight the burgeoning auto industry and support legitimate tranportation by horses.
That will be a lost of credibility since they can modify any kind of results, what leads to censorship
I haven't used Google for a long while. The reason being is that a good search provider should remain impartial, providing honest results, while staying away from politics as much as possible. My favorite search provider is Duck Duck go. YaCy search engine is pretty good as well with results.
