You pay good money for your TV service and you should be able to watch it on whichever device you wish, right? If you're thinking, "Hell yeah, that's right!," then you're probably going to like Sling's new Slingbox M1. It's a $150 (MSRP) box capable of bouncing pay TV content from your living room to the most popular mobile devices.

That includes recorded content sitting on your DVR, and yes, it streams in up to Full HD 1080p quality. While the box itself is $150 (which is $30 less than its predecessor, the Slingbox 350), there are no monthly fees to monkey around with -- just set it up and start watching and controlling content on your tablet, phone, PC, or Mac. You can also watch on a second TV if you own an Apple TV or Roku.

Sling M1

The Slingbox M1 sports dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and has an Ethernet port to boot. It also has component and composite input/output. Not bad, and if you're interested, it'll be available on July 20, 2014.

In addition to the Slingbox M1, Sling introduced a software update for its Slingbox 500, which it's now calling SlingTV. It still costs $299 -- current owners can download the new software for free -- but it sports a brand new interface that promotes content discovery. You can navigate the menu by content type and find what you're looking for quickly by browsing cover art tiles.

"Once again, Sling Media is totally redefining the ‘TV Anywhere’ experience with the introduction of the Slingbox M1 and SlingTV," says Michael Hawkey, senior vice president and general manager of Sling Media. "Customers interested in a no-compromise entertainment experience using the most popular devices will be delighted by the affordability and new features of the Slingbox M1. SlingTV completely enhances the living room TV experience with a visually stunning on TV user interface that takes ultimate advantage of social media data activity."

SlingTV will be available in late August, as will the free software upgrade for existing Slingbox 500 owners.

I feel like tv providers should be offering this already anyways, but it's still pretty coolZ
