Dell's workstation line has been a popular choice for enterprise customers, and we've some pretty fond memories of older models that we've reviewed in the past. Today, the Precision line is taking a major leap, looking a lot less like a stereotypical "business machine" and a lot more like a sturdy, albeit sleek, workhorse.

The Precision M3800 is said to be the planet's thinnest and lightest 15" workstation. There's an optional Quad HD+ (3200x1800) display with more pixels that the average user could ever count, and of course, Intel's latest quad-core Core i7 CPU paired with NVIDIA's Quadro graphics.

Unlike most business-built machines, the M3800 is on the thin side at under 0.75" thick. It starts at 4.15lbs., and offers up to 10 hours of battery life. Users can also opt for up to 16GB of memory, Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8.1, and a 2GB Quadro K1100M GPU. Interestingly, Dell's offering multiple storage configurations, with a maximum of 1.5TB inside (using HDD, SSHD, or SSD).

There's also a Corning Gorilla NBT Glass display, an aluminum frame, USB 3.0 support, Bluetooth 4.0, an HDMI socket, a backlit keyboard, a multi-touch touchpad with two physical click buttons, and a media card reader onboard.

It'll ship on 11/14, with a starting tag of $1799.
