As long as it cuts down the ambient noise.
Okay, my first response to this was "Who cares? Most people already have a headset anyway." Until I read 'Bear in mind that current headsets will not be compatible with the Xbox One due to a proprietary connection to the controller.' Seriously? Why do companies do this BS? Can't they just keep it simple USB? Or even better, the standard stereo audio/mic connectors that have been used for years...
The Kinnect mic will be terrible. Somebody in another room talking? It's going to be picked up. Have a fan on? it's going to be picked up. Have a child or siblings? They are definitely getting picked up.
Not to mention now you have to listen to their voices when they scream loudly over your TV speakers instead of being able to turn down your headset volume so that the players are just loud enough.
Dumb move Microsoft.
Its called the pursuit of more money.................
Reusing present headsets/connections doesn't make financial sense.
Meanwhile Sony is including a headset, Sony is just kicking Microsoft's butt on this one while still keeping a cheaper price tag! I've always preferred Sony over Microsoft. God of War, Uncharted, The Last of Us, what more can you ask for?
