Hello Everyone

Ive just did an upgrade on my pc, and to be honest the system feels alot slower, games especially are choppy and stutter, even the WMP visualization has a frame rate :S.

All drivers and BIOS are up to date. Any ideas?.

I recently upgraded from

Asus A8V-VM
AMD 64 3500 W/STOCK COOLER
2X512MB KINGSTON VALUERAM DDR 400
SB XFI EXTREMEMUSIC
NVIDIA GEFORE 7900 GT

and upgraded the following.
Asus P5VD-MX SE
CORE 2 DO E6320 4MB L2 CACHE
1GB KINGSTON VALUERAM DDR2 533

I am using a switching power supply KY-550ATX 500w P4.

Maybe the power supply is the culprit... could try 2 trouble shoot the ram too.

i have just done a fresh install. I installed my nvidia gfx drivers and as the installation was in progress the system kept hanging then starting then hanging again. I went to change the resolution to my normal 1280x 1048 the screen went blank and i have to retry this 3 times before it finally changed.

not enough power maybe?? 7900gt btw.

something just feels very odd, my money is on the psu..

500w should be fine. it might be the ram as well or it could just be the vid card.

anyone else got any ideas? kind of an expensive way to find out buying a new psu and then a new stick of memory.

ive had kingston value ram in the past ddr400 and its bin spot on.

also when i first installed the upgrade i was averaging 25c idle on my cpu, last night it was around 34 idle and got to 41.

is this normal??

I dont have a C2D but if you are running the stock cooler those temps

seem ok to me (maybe a little high if it is idling at that but under

full-load those seem fine), one thing that might have some part (not

the main problem but it would cause a slow down) in the slow down is

going from dual channeled RAM to one 1 GB stick (if I read correctly)
