im looking into getting a new laptop, ive found one i like its a dell inspiration, the most u can upgrade the graphics card to it a ati radeon x1400 256mb,
i really wanted to get a 512 graphics card if i could but they dont offer it as a upgrade on this system, only on the xps and i dont want a 17ich screen, 15.1 is pusing it a bit for me,
what im wondering is if if i do get it with the x1400 card can i upgrade to whatever i want by just buying the card and putting it in?

Not sure...but I wouldnt think so. Most of the time when someone wants a 512MB video on a laptop it will be for gaming and they would want the bigger screen.

personally i would never buy a laptop and upgrade it. way too much bottlenecking occurs in a laptop when you upgrade just oen thing. pluas its hard to find quality parts for your exact model and brand of laptop.

I recently bought a HP DV6000 laptop, it has an Intel GMA 950 - which is pathetic for gaming. Is there any way i can upgrade the graphics processor?

Yes you can! if you got a 17" dell E1705 then you could get a 7900GS, in ebay the only thing is if you do yourself then you risk voiding the warranty.

IE: X1400 for a E1705
7800 for a E1705

It is not bottlenecking is a awesome thing. beside lappy are in a way more Convenient to more users than desktop. & technology finally are offering product for gamers like the external video card from Asus that is a plus. the only thing that we need right now is replacement for the internal fan and basically Lappy users will be in a par situation with the desktop users.

Go for mackbook only if you have good budget. I am using it for many days. My second choice is LG Gram

Agreed, there's always the Apple Tax, Windows PCs are still a better value.
