Hey guys! BlackHawk8100 here and I am back in school now, so I have been in and out of the forums. It has been a quite quiet here and I was wanting to spur some conversation, so here goes nothing.

I am taking a PC Maintenance and Repair class through my school, and one of my upcoming assignments is to build a computer, with school provided money. Now, there are so many options (like the 1050 that just came out), and I don't know where to start. This is why I am going to you guys. The school provided budget is $500. I don't know if it includes the OS or not (we may go a linux route, we'll see), so do a version with the OS and without. Have fun with it! Liquid cooling if you can, 1050s, i3s etc etc. I don't care what you do, I just want to see other peoples opinions. Feel free to post pcpartpicker links and have fun with it, peace!

Optical shouldn't matter (It is 2016, we download stuff like men) and no purpose other than building it, but it needs to be the best of the best for $500.
