I owned an amazon kindle HDX tablet some time ago but it got hardbricked because of amazon restriction (encryption of the boot) still I love the table so much because it was very light and it's screen look very sharp and amazing colors... but I hated the amazon bundled apps and Amazon OS overall.

Please suggest me an alternative tablet that have similar specs and design, I love to tweak the android and get it rooted as a geek I cannot use a tablet that I don't have full control over...

Thanks.

Nook Tablets are pretty good from Barnes and Noble. They run Android with other features built in. My mom has one and would reccomend.

You may be able to find more variety and a larger indie development community for Samsung Galaxy Tab S, though Samsung is the one who makes Nooks now. Which Tab S you get may depend on which Fire HDX you have. IIRC, there are several sizes of hdx.

A Nook comes with bother Google Play and the Nook store and support for Amazon, it is a good tablet for general use :P

I don't disagree, but OP did ask for something very customize able. I don't know if B&N locked down their particular blend of Samsung tab, but I think it's likely the Tab S line of the same tablet would have better 3rd party dev support with more ROMs, kernels and other tweaks.

Thank you all, I will look for the suggested models, I loved Samsung Tab S but it looked to fragile to me... the amazon kindle body is metal and so well designed that it holds very well in hand... I just wish if they offered a way to unlock them and install bare android os or cyogen without a risk to brick it...

OP said he wouldn't mind rooting the device :P. The Nook device doesn't seem that bad of an option, maybe not though, who knows!

i think you should buy apple or samsung. Or just go to any Keith Urban concerts and you will be amazed with his performance! Ticket prices and tour dates are here.
