Right now I have a 2 monitor setup, one is a HD 1920x1080 the other is a 1680x1080 VGA/DVI HP that has the capability turning to vertical position for working on Code etc. In the future I plan on live streaming and most good streamers have a 3 monitor setup, for me that was something I was always interested in doing once I got a good enough graphics card, the interest was more along the lines of gaming, especially fight simulators and racing, having a 3 monitor setup would be awesome for that, but I lack desk space and now with VR setups, is 3 monitors necessary or a waste of money and space, what do you think?

It all really depends on what you plan to do with the monitors and if you want to do it. But, with your VGA monitor, it really doesn't count xD It is whatever you wanna do xD

Well I can appreciate what your saying, but I think at the end of the day it comes down to how much desk space you have and what your budget is, the VGA one I have can't be considered a gaming monitor because of the low resolution so I would have to get at least another 21 inch HD monitor but I don't have room on my Desk, my only solution will be to either place both HDMI side by side and place the VGA one on a adjacent extension like a shelf or not use the VGA one, but then again it really wouldn't count like you said. I guess I will just wait till I can get at least 2 more HDMI monitors.

You worry about space when you can get a tri-monitor mount that can go on the wall or in the desk xD

I think 3 monitors are wonderful. Not just for gaming, but productivity. Don't sweat the space issues. Wall mounts, and stands are available.

I will never go back to just one.

I have heard that quite a bit. You add one monitor, you never go back. Add another and you are stuck for life. It is kinda funny.

Well the only reason I'm able to have 2 setup right now is because my C90S desktop replacement has both a VGA port and HDMI. otherwise I would be out of luck and would need an external GPU like USB, I don't I could ever do 3 monitors without and external on this PC, but I could be wrong.

If the gpu is good enough, you can. there are DVI splitters that allow 2 monitors. But a laptop running 3 might be a struggle

Laptops aren't meant for more than 1, and if you use 1, you disable the laptops built in monitor lol
