One of the things we like about AVADirect is the extensive catalog of off-the-shelf parts to choose from. In fact, a major advantage of shopping from a boutique system builder as opposed to a bulk OEM is the availability of name brand hardware you'd otherwise buy from Newegg, or wherever it is you purchase your components, when rolling your own rig. But what's somewhat unique to AVADirect is the smorgasbord of brands and models to choose from. The robust selection of hardware makes evaluating an AVADirect system somewhat of a challenge in terms of focus, but it's a good problem to have. In our case, AVADirect pieced together a high-end system from its 'Gaming PC' category, built around Intel's X79 (Sandy Bridge-E) platform, with a Core i7 3960X processor and decked out with three EVGA GeForce GTX 680 (Kepler) graphics cards... WOW $6000, but daaaaaaammmmnnn!!
I owned an AVA system before I got the itch to build my own systems. Good experience but I second the psycho cable management comment in the review. It's not necessarily a bad thing but they use an entire dollar store bucket's worth of zipties....
That is one kick ass system, geek porn extraordinaire.
In comparison, I offer the following:
This is a game my sister has from when we were kids, and yes it still works. LOL I guess you could say we've seen some improvement over the years.
CDeeter, that right there is HOT bro.
I'm amazed it still works. We loved that game!
Yup; AVA-D rocks, I have steered customers there way and have known people (Friends not customers) who I have directed there as well and have never seen nor heard of any issues. This has generally been on laptops there support as well has always been flawless to my experience. The available choices they have are great usually as well as very widely varied you can really build a truly custom laptop. It would seem to me if there as tight as they are on laptops they would be a no fail on a desktop as it's construction and issues would be far less likely than on a laptop just in general. Either way I would use them for anything without reserve personally.
I think the following would work for me!
