Really just suggested apps and it can be turned off but I have a feeling this is just the beginning.

I'm still not using ten. All this news about data being sent to ms, even when turned off. The amount of berating it does to try and get me to install ten. I'm fine with 8.1

I'm still rocking Windows 7 on all my systems. I'll switch when they finally end of life it. Until then I'm very happy with it.

if not only for dx12, 10 would not be as appealing as it is right now. windows 7 for the win. at least for now.

This is awful. Did Microsoft not learn from the mess that Skype was when they put ads in it?! I am slightly perturbed

lol... FUD at it's finest... Do any of you even use windows 10?

I have it on my PC at home...I mostly ignore the start menu... I have icons on the task bar for all the important stuff I use, and if it's not there I go straight to search and don't even pay attention to anything else in the start menu. My start menu can be replaced with a search/run bar and I would be perfectly content.

Also, you can turn the suggestions off. Although, some people might actually find the suggestions useful.

And let's not get outraged over what may or may not happen in the future. You will have ample opportunity to lose your sh... cool... if and when they announce ADs in the start menu. :-)

I have Windows 10 and I have not had a single problem with it. DirectX 12 is great, plus there's the fact that every new version of Windows comes with performance and security upgrades that in my opinion are crucial, given how vulnerable Windows has been, historically. As for the usage data sent to Microsoft, you do know that you can have Windows without a Microsoft account, right?

Interesting if is just the apps they have, why not market it to someone and it might as well be the people that are using 10.

Still haven't upgraded any system to Windows 10 because of ask if the negative reviews I'm seeing, and Ads are fine so long as they're neither obstructive nor annoying. I just don't want Facebook Ads or some BS like that on my home screen.

Well get ready, MS will be forcing upgrades to windows 10.... without notifying you either.

But.. I have been on W10 since launch... very few issues (only driver related)
