This IS a pretty neat device. I'm liking it. I can see where this could be useful. Granted, I can do all of these things with my tablet or PC.
I watched the video for this and I can't really see it being more useful than any given tablet for $200. Maybe if you get the Amazon Prime deal and get it for $100 then it would be a cool bluetooth speaker and google/bing or whatever search it uses.
I will definitely pass on this. I am extremely picky with my audio products and not just any old speakers headphones or earbuds will do. I know that Bose and Beats products are over priced and I would never use them. The built in speaker is the reason I wouldn't touch the Echo. If Amazon is smart they will release a version of the echo without a built in speaker, it should be just the brains, speakers, wifi & BT connectivity with audio out ports including SPIDIF so that people like me can attach Echo to real speakers of our own choosing, or home entertainment systems.
The Echo reminds me of BT speakers like that from Ultimate Ears Boom but smarter.
I wish more people jumped in on the Echo discussion!
