Oy. Valve's not oblivious that people want Half-Life 3... "Half-Life 3 confirmed" is a meme that just won't die. Valve doesn't care about our demands. This is the company that had Episode 3 well under development before ceasing conversation on it. It was a clear rollout... a new episode every six or eight months. We got two, and no more. It decided that other things were more important to focus on.
Given how long we've been waiting, I'd actually be worried about what Half-Life 3 could even be. It might be some free-to-play game that has a massive focus on multiplayer, and who really wants that? I want a true HL release just like the others... and I just have a feeling that's not what we'd be getting at this point. Valve's changed.
RWilliams, I seriously doubt they would make it FTP. Unless they want to purposefully smear their own name and ruin their good standing reputation they have with their fanbase and gamers. If anything I would hazard to guess they are now spending time to add Oculus Rift support. I disagree that Valve has changed so much that it would affect their most prized IP. I have faith.
"You know when you're browsing Google and in your search results page you see a nice little advertisement on the side?". No I have no idea what you're talking about because I use ad-block, and what if Valve employees do to?
Did someone mention HL3 and Oculus Rift in the same story, HL3 for Oculus Rift confirmed. Woot woot.
Yeah, this feels like a massive waste of money. The people that would back something like this would be just as capable of massing enough manpower to do this much and a whole lot more online. Player's don't need an agency to get louder than they already are.
