Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my RAM. Currently I have 8gigs of G Skill Ripjaws 1333. Is it worth the upgrade to 8 gigs of G Skill Sniper series at 1866? I've also been thinking of going up to 16gigs at 1866 or would that be overkill?

I Use my computer mainly for Video Editing/Rendering, Photoshop and lots of gaming.

Computer Specs:

Windows 8.1

Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz

XFX Radeon HD 5770

Crucial M4 128GB SATA SSD

Corsair 750watt PS

I dont know if you would see that much of a speed increase... I know if you had 1600 then I would say no for sure..

But.. if you went to 16GB with 1866 (or higher) then you would see a definite improvement. Especially with video editing

Yeah I agree with Static Fx but  just look at it the most simple of ways 16 bigger then 8 :) but neither way it should not ''overkill''
