The headphones that made headphones cool have a new look and some important new features that will keep the beat going even longer. The Beats Studio series isn’t available just yet, but it’s already getting attention for the sleek new design and rechargeable batteries that are expected to give listeners 20 hours of audio bliss.

Beats Studio Headphones with Noise Canceling Technology by Dr Dre

Beats Electronics was founded in 2008 by Luke Wood, Jimmy Lovine, and Dr. Dre and made its reputation with the stylish Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones, which received good marks for delivering quality sound. The new Beats Studio series has dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling (ANC), to give you some control over the extent to which the headphones cancel external noise. And the aforementioned rechargeable batteries are complemented by a Battery Fuel Gauge to keep you apprised of the battery level. A nice touch: the headsets have a micro USB port, to make it easier to find a power adapter when you leave your charger at home. The new design also makes the headphones lighter and, according to Beats, more comfortable. When the headphones are available, you’ll be able to pick up your pair for a mere $299.95.

These are wireless? I tend to hate on Beats, but a wireless option would be nice for some people.

@RWilliams,

I am not sure if you have heard the their studio series before or not, but I found them to be pretty decent for their price tag. Def. not set of GRADO's, but not bad at all. It was all the lower end ones that caught all the popularity that are bleh for their sound range.

Id be interested to see how these do overall though.

I have tried every beats product out and they are all absolute crap for the price. The only product I've liked is the actual beats sound dock which has decent sound for a dock but also way over priced.

Wireless is nice and convenient but definitely not for true audiophiles.

Even their high end offerings are so weighted in favor of extreme bass that they are useless for all but rap and hiphop crap. Any speaker or headphones should have as flat a frequency curve as possible so the music alone can come through as accurately as possible, not a mushy mess ala beats.
