It's amazing what you can discover by digging around the Web. Head over to the FCC's website, for example, and you might stumble upon an intriguing Fusion-powered nettop from Sapphire. Rather than release another pint-sized system with an Intel Atom processor and Nvidia Ion graphics running the show, Sapphire's upcoming Edge-HD3 Mini PC will roll with an AMD E-450 dual-core processor and integrated Radeon HD 6320 graphics.

Credit goes to Liliputing for discovering the FCC page, which seems to have to have disappeared, but not before a few specs and several pictures could be pulled from the site. According to the original listing, the Edge-HD3 Mini PC supports up to 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of hard drive storage via a single 2.5-inch drive bay. It also features 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GbE LAN, VGA and HDMI video connectivity, onboard audio, two USB 3.0 ports, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, and FreeDOS running the show, though you can also install Windows 7 if you want.

The devices measures 7.6 inches x 5.8 inches x 0.9 inches and weighs a scant 1.2 pounds, plenty small enough to fit inconspicuously into your home theater rack. Pricing and other details have yet to be announced.

I agree, that certainly does look nice. Unfortunately, the Edge HD-3 has yet to appear on the Sapphire website ; let's hope it doesn't turn out to be vapourware !...

It sure does! It's amazing how much power they packed in this thing. I mean come on, this thing is the size of a paperback book, and has all the features that 75% of the public could want. And I would be surprised if most small businesses couldn't get by running these.

Hey Dave!

I think a full review is in order as soon as you can get one.
