I just noticed today that the place where I normally buy all my components from - canadacomputers.com - has reduced prices on all the Core 2 Duo processors DRASTICALLY. The e6600 has dropped to $291.99 CDN and even more amazing is the Q6600 Quad Core processor is now $673.99 there. Just thought I'd let anyone know who is in the market for a new CPU that now is a good time as it seems most retailers have slashed prices significantly. I'm sure this is probably the same at all major retailers so check it out, I'm gonna get mine today now that it's so cheap.

Its been known for a while that they were going to do that. Its to compete with AMD's price drops.

Well it has been rumored that a price drop would occur but never a comment as to by how much or when this would take place. I'm just saying that I'm stoked as to how much and how soon they have been decreased.

That is nothing prices would continue to fall, give it until the end of may and you'll see more drop.
Right now with $1000 you could buy a nice mid-high system either quad or dual from either AMD or INTEL.
