Actually I just built a gaming rig for a friend for $1500. Although that price also included $100 for keyboard and mouse, and $100 for windows.

Got him a core i5 6600k, gtx970, 8gb ddr4, 2x 250GB SSD in a raid 0, 850watt psu, and a blu ray burner.

*SMH*

Star Wars Battlefield "Requires" 8GB of RAM. "Recommends" 16GB.

My friend had NO problem playing this game(In Beta) at 1080p res on ULTRA settings. Not even a single hiccup, studder, slow down, etc.

So hey, I think I know what i'm doing. ;-)

And if in the future he ever really DOES need 16GB... he still has 2 open dimm slots that would make an upgrade very easy.

DDR4 is not expensive? 16GB (2x8GB) is like $85-90. and you will want 16gb for video editing... and an i7 for sure.

It gets really expensive when you start getting higher clock speeds!

the deals aint that good for now really maybe in the coming holidays but even if you buy one with higher clocks, there were no real fps gains from it (maybe in the future) but aczart did his a friend a favor in this really.
