JJr mentioned removing the GTX980 and i provided the solution 🙂 you can put any video card you want into this thing...

"With this though, it makes the laptop less portable. My question is,"Can a user detach the water cooling block and return to a normal heat-sink or something of the like so the heat is dispersed naturally?" This would create a pivotal addition to the laptop scene. We will have to see eh?"

Well the water cooling system in the first post is intended to be detachable. While in use, you can't go anywhere... the whole purpose of using it is to get extra performance, but you get more bang for your buck out of a good graphics card than overclocking your cpu and mobile gpu... which is why I offered the alienware solution as an alternative. You will get better performance out of it.

Laptops kind of blow as is, and this kind of helps, although I wouldn't buy it. I'd just get a tiny form factor case I could carry around to something like a lan party. It is all personal preference and opinions 😛

I'm not a fan if gaming laptops! I do like laptops like the XPS 13 though. I wouldn't want to game on a laptop 😛

Seems interesting. But I wonder how the 990M is going to hold up in the years to come.

I am assuming it will be alright, as it is made to do this job, we will see 😛
