Digital Storm debuted a new fleet of gaming notebooks rocking NVIDIA GTX 800M series graphics and Intel Core i7 4000 series CPUs, and one of the four--the aptly named “Behemoth”--offers a pair of NVIDIA GTX 880M GPUs in SLI.

There are four notebooks in the family, the 15.6-inch Javelin and Lance and the 17.3-inch Krypton and Behemoth. Digital Storm offers all four at multiple levels and configurations.

DS notebooks

At the highest end of the line, the Behemoth sports an Intel Core i7-4930MX processor, 16GB of DDR3-1600MHz memory, a 256GB SSD and 750GB (7200 rpm) HDD storage setup, and a 17.3-inch (1920x1080) display. There’s also a DVD/CD 8x multi-drive, Intel Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth 4.0, and Windows 8.1. That particular configuration will set you back $3,984.

The lowest-end system in the family is the Javelin, which starts at $1,196 and features an Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU, NVIDIA GTX 860M (2GB), 8GB of DDR3-1600MHz RAM, a 750GB (7200 rpm) HDD, Wireless-N WiFi, and Windows 8.1.

To promote the release of the new line, Digital Storm is having a contest where one lucky individual with a sad, broken-down old laptop can win a Krypton system worth $1,478.

This laptop would be Superb! In my book of Greatness but the cons bring it down.I mean its very expensive and has short battery life but besides all that heck of a Storm :D

Nice to see a new line of laptops with the 800 series. Can't wait till they come out for desktops. Digital Storm makes quality products and I really like the look of the laptops. The logo on the touch pad is a nice touch (get it? nice touch lol) That Behemoth is a monster

A person could just build a really nice desktop instead for a lot less, then simply use steam's in home streaming to a cheap 200 dollar notebook.

these laptops are beasts! and i think that the low battery life isnt necissarily a huge deal, as long as its portable enough to take anywhere plugging it in once you get there shouldnt be a problem. nice article

as nice as it is.. I still have a hard time with the statement "gaming laptop" - for the same price you could get a better gaming desktop.
