No, I don't want to damage my new PC. I'll stick with up to 4.40 GHz with Ram run at 1.33 GHz. That I did bought 6 GB DDR3 at 1.33 GHz. It is pretty fast enough for DDR3. When I did overclocked i7 990X at 4.40 GHz with RAM at 1.33 GHz and PC did went super fast and plenty of power. Please understand that my new pc run for few weeks now.
That's nice you have those clock speeds and trying not to damage your new PC
just noticed that nothing was mentioned regarding TEMPS ! What temps under full load ?
So how 'super fast' and what temps ?
@Mke Coyne you might want to take a look at this thread Bios settings for overclocking your rig. (A guide for the rest of us) http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/t/53962.aspx
post some screens of CPU-Z and either CoreTemps or Real Temps ..what are you using to test for stability ? and monitoring your temps under full load ?
*** Note the reason that thread got started was due to someone having a high lock speed with cpu temps in the uppper 80c C !
& that will certainly shorten the life and performance expectancy of your cpu as Taylor previously mentioned..
