Is the next Batman movie being shot? We're hearing that it is, but a release definitely isn't imminent. Either way, Power-A has just announced a new Xbox 360 and PS3 controller design that they're calling "Batarang." The controller is reportedly being issued to play nice with Batman: Arkham City this fall, and with E3 happening this week, the timing couldn't be better.

Both of these are wireless devices, and outside of a funky design and color scheme, they're pretty much standard-fare controlers. The Xbox edition looks more "standard" than the PS3 model, but that seems to always be the case with third-party peripherals. They'll be shipping in mid-October, but no price has been revealed yet.

The PS3 controller certainly looks interesting. The only major issue I have found with 3rd part controllers is they generally are inferior in quality to the OEM equipment with game consoles.

I am going to have a hard time waiting for this game to come out. It is going to be a great year for gamers especially with all the new IPs being released; specifically I want Dead Island and RAGE so badly.

Looks ridiculously cheap.

I feel like I'm going to break one if I play with it roughly.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention those controllers are not my cup of tea. Frankly I don't think Batman would be impressed either.

They don't even look like Batman designed them. Frankly I just think they took some third-rate controllers and slapped a sticker on it that said "Batman".

What are these made for,...Five year olds! The only thing that says Bat is the center buttons. The rest just looks like a cheap sippy cup!

Looks like a product of Chinese creativity using a popular DC character:P

The build quality looks like cheap plastic in the gray casing and the clear part for the LED illumination, and if their using inferior quality materials on a product that is supposed to have a visual appeal from the "batman" association, I doubt their putting much attention or effort into quality internal components either... this looks like something you'd see at a flea market

They don't work, The response time for the ps3 version is incredibly laggy and the plastic feels cheap... I feel like a [censored]for buying one *facepalm*
