Nice to see that they thought about platform independence. Now, if we could only get more gamepad, keyboard, and mice makers to do the same with their "high end" products.
I still wonder how hackable this might be. Does the entire drive get re-written when you change your PIN? If not, it seems like it's just checking your PIN to allow access to the full AES key. So... could some hardware hacker take it apart and extract the actual key - then read the memory directly and decrypt it? If so, you're probably safer just using full-disk encryption on the volume and either including the decryption app on a non-encrypted partition - or just installing the decryption software on every PC where you will use the drive.
