Sigh!. Wish I could afford something even HALF as decent as this. I'm still using a hand me down AMD socket 939 rig with a single core Athlon 64 4000+ and 2 gigs of ram. And as luck would have it, it got phased out several months back and parts have shot through the roof, if you can find them at all.
Now I'm torn between i5 or Phenom II X4 and blasted Athlon II X4.
Been so satisfied with my old rig I never paid any attention to the cpu wars much. And now i regret it.
Anyone care to help a fella out and throw together a super budget 'game' rig for $500? Priorities are future proofing upgradability, so cpu, mobo, vga, and memory are main focus. Everything else can be ignored so that should help. HDD/ case, psu, etc can trickle in later.
