In this economy it would be nice for us techies to network a little and maybe have postings of job opening for unemployed geeks like myself who can't seem to find a job to save my life.Is hh hiring? if so I'm your man.
Move to Northern VA there's going to be an over abundance of IT jobs available next year here.
What he said. While I don't work in the tech field it is because I want my hobbies and work to be separate. I do see a lot of jobs open in this area.
Any reason for this? Is Google planning to build another Googleplex there soon?
There are ton's of job boards forums etc on the net. I mean is you know personally someone who's hiring or something and it is where I live that would be cool. But, really we are spread out all over the country.
It's because Northern VA is where most of the government and government contractor IT main offices are.
Oh, I was confused because nelson indicated that there would a lot more IT jobs next year as opposed to this year.
Working for 'Uncle Sugar' is always a good job.
This year and next, seems like money will start flowing from the government to try to streamline a lot of different services and to start new green/alternate energy type jobs.
I agree, I made $4k (in 2 months) interning for a government construction administration, which monitored construction in Lower Manhattan. Might go back there again this summer.
Yeah don't forget the government has several new initiatives (like the tech Czar etc.) that are about to be implemented or at least started this year. This location is one basically the closest to DC (My dad used to live up there it took an hor to an hour and a half to get to Washington). So being that I live in Atlanta 1-1.5 is basically a suburb of said city.
