I plan on using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit.  If anybody has any suggestions on parts or anything at all really, that would be awesome.

Thanks.

everything looks good the only thing is the video card a 3870 x2 will work better than a 9800gt which is just a refresh of a 8800gt!

look into that, here at Hothardware could help you either by the review or by user experiences in what video card would help you!

btw welcome to the forums

I have the Acer X221W monitor and it's a great monitor. The color is a little washed out, but not anything to worry about. I can only tell having it beside another monitor.

Also like Kid007 said the 9800gt is not the greatest.

Make sure you use Windows Vista 64bit. 32bit will not take advantage of all that Ram.

That link sent me to a search page. How much do you wanna spend on the graphics card?

I fixed the link.  My budget for the whole thing is around 1200$ including the monitor.  Obviously the more I spend the better card I will get but I'd like to stay around 200$.

That card looks good. A mighty fine deal you found there.

Hi,

Your system sounds great! Just one thing, a setup like that is only as good as it's weakest link: it's case. There's not much point in having a cheap case to house such good components. I would recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047&Tpk=nzxt%20tempest . It's a great case and comes with 6 fans installed to cool your "Hot Hardware"! It costs twice as much as your current case, but it's truly worth it in the long run.

Thanks

Yeah a case will carry with you much longer than any other parts too. I will have the same case for years, but upgrade my computer every year.
