har har AMD RULES 21 VOTES

If Intel lowered their prices then maybe i'd vote for them, but them Pentiums is jus to darn expensive.

DEATH TO INTEL, LONG LIVE AMD!

AMD is better, they may be lagging behind with their 32bit clockspeeds but their 64bit chips should hit back at affordable prices soon!

INTEL ALL THE WAY BABY!!!

In a sense sometimes i could care less for performance and price....i want a solid relaible product that will last....even through the abuse i put it through....like oc'ing...
With Intel i'm pretty much assured that it won't fry or mess up even if i clock it a little higher than normal...

I'm saying that AMD is bad either....it takes a lot from a company like AMD to challenge Intel and also take away some of their market share....but i just prefer Intel....=)

there is no better deal around these days then a p4 2.26, thats all their need to be said

the athlon xp line is running into a dead end, it cant compete any longer with the superior northwood core. If amd launches a new version, the only thing intel has to do is take the next off their models out off the closet and sell it. A series off northwoods is readyto be produced and sold but amd has some much trouble to squize something more out off their core.

maybe but i said maybe, the hammer gonna change the picture but we will see. Because intel could have its prescott with a fsb off 166Mhz ready by then.

If you check AMDs road map there are going to stop manufacturing 32bit Athlons very soon indeed.

64bit Rulez !

AMD chips are 'stronger' in that they can take 300g heatsinks within their warranty, intel only allows for a measly 125g.

Get an AMD chip - the new Barton core and 333FSB will give better performance.

amd chips stronger??? I'm lmao

how many stories have you heard about cracked intel cores? and how many about the athlon? they even invinted a shim to give the amd cores some extra protection. btw the mass off the heatsink itself is not the cause for cracked cpu's, its the tension because off to tight screwed installiation.

all the rest is just the typical wait-and-see speculation, the only defense off amd-lovers for the moment

Out of my 3 current systems and 1 previous system, only one is an AMD Athlon.

I have a P90 - damn old!
I had a P3-500
I have a 1GHz Athlon TBird
I have a 1.6GHz Mobile Pentium4 based laptop (Dell Inspiron 8200, with all [well most] the extras!)

Everybody I know has Athlons and there is very little support for Intel over here - the fact is : they are over priced!

You say the 2.26Ghz is the best deal when they are like 390$CAN... That price is higher then a 2200+...
