LOL I think so. My mom lives in SC and she complains all the time about the prices. Here in Richmond, VA they are around $3.45 right now, which is a nice drop from a month ago at $4.00.

I just fueled my Eldorado today and the prices were: Regular-$3.65  MidGrade-$3.75 Super-$3.85/gal. That was at a very competitive Chevron Station here in beautiful Southern California. The price was over $4.00/gal for regular a couple of months ago. Nice to see the prices drop, but I suppose those Gulf-Coast hurricanes will cause the prices to rise again. It's always something, isn't it?

Be sure to report any gas gouging via the Department of Energy's Gas Price Watch Reporting Form available at http://gaswatch.energy.gov/. As an extra measure, if you witness gas gouging and have a digital camera or cell phone with a digital camera, take a picture of the gas stations mar[censored] showing the prices being charged. While the gas station companies employees or management may deny price gouging when presented with a filled out complaint, an actual photo of the prices in question is impossible to deny.

Well our prices here where I live in Easley SC have hit a new High $5.29 a gal. Its on our news here and the Police are now going out to these stations. The owners of these stations are saying that the distributors are charging them these prices and there only making 5 to 10 cents a gal.I beleive that some station owners are gouging but I put most of the blame on market speculaters driving the price up and oil companies. Also what bothers me is we have people in our goverment that are in office in places of power that have vital interrest in oil companies  and they are suppose to be looking after our interest.Whats wrong with this picture! The working man is the one that keeps this country gng and not only are they getting screwed by corperate America subbing our jobs out to other countries but  getting it in the wallet trying to go to work everyday trying to get there! This is why America is in the position its in now! The old saying still stands THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR KEEP GETTING POORER!

In 1999 right before all the war I worked at a gas station we sold gas for 1 cent more than we paid. Gas stations never made money on gas. It's the high priced soda, snacks, beer and such that they make the real money. Gas brings the people in. Guess they wanna rip us for gas as well now.

In Dublin the price is €1.25 per litre in US Gallons thats about €4.60 and in dollars thats $6.50.

So $6.50 sounds about right.

Hows your gas prices?

STUPID!  Everytime I look at the signs for prices:  ...$1.37 per litre ... not as bad as some places but I remember when a 4 digit sign looked funny not common.

I think its the most disheartening when you hear of price per barrel of oil going down $x but gas prices still rising -- I am sure due to refineries having to be close (hurricane) but still.

Its nothing more than greed! They look for a reason to up the price all year long! Hurricanes, its summer travel season people are going to be using it more, its winter fuel oil going up due to heating your home so lets jack the price of both up.If times are better and people are going on vacation of course that boost the economy so they want a part of that.Good or bad times they got their hand out! But in my thinking just me thinking out loud if we are suffering to the point where we have to make a choice between gas and food I would think they would cut the price to help people like us if not for a humane approach I could at least give us more money to spend therefore we could feed our family and also it would boost the economy! There is nothing to be gained by kicking poeple while their down!  Good thing I cant type fast this would look like the 2008 election thread![8-)]

I'm sure there are people that have to make that choice.

What is stupid is that the only reason the government is getting away with letting these companies charge so much money for gas and other energy costs is that it gives the average person less disposable income.  The less disposable income the less crap you buy from China where oddly enough all the freaking manufacturing jobs went to for cheaper labor to make more money.  The US is a capitalist society, yet everyone seems to think it is a socialist society asking the govt for handouts.  You can be one or the other not both.  Im not happy at all about the recent AIG bail out.  Thats my F***ing money they are giving them.  They dont just operate in the US, let the other contries help pay the burden.  Its crap, the govt has no money, guess who does, its Citizens.  We are letting them ream us poor. Gas where i am in Texas is $3.59 a gallon.

Also the mystery of why the price of a barrel of oil is dropping yet the price is still high is called the dollar is being devalued.  All this economic issues means the rest of the world sees this and does not belive we can back up our money.  All the paper money in the US is backed up by the word from the federal government.  There isnt enough gold in fort knox to back up the paper money and coins that are out in the US and rest of the world.
