I have just upgrade to a SOYO K7V dragon+ and it is the slowest MB to bootup I have ever seen. After the Verify DMI POOL it tells me its updating the windows file and sits there for what seems 30+ seconds then jumps to the desk top and runs fine (well it lockS playing Op flash point) Antone a clue how to speed it up or is this normal?

Go in BIOS and disable bootup floppy seek. May trim a few secs off.

Its odd how it has to update files everytime you start up. When you switched motherboards did you format or just install it?

I always format when installing a big hardware upgrade. Keeps things running smooth.

Yes I reformated and moved partisions around several times. Wanted to make sure all data was gone. Seems to boot better but still slow for my taste.
Now it locks when starting a game Operation flashpoint. The HD light is on Ctrl/Alt/del don't work so I have to hit the reset.
