I've been working on this computer for about a year.  It's seen a few different motherboards and video cards, all sorts of RAM, and a number of computer cases.  It's ALWAYS a work in progress.  It's not efficient, offers zero upgradeability, and I think I'm sick of fiddling with it.  Nevertheless, it's served well as a learning experience over the past year.  It also happens to be a solid multipurpose PC.

Here's a lenghthy spec rundown. (I don't really throw away hardware and I'm a big peripheral guy, can you tell?)
Components outside the chassis are in italics.

BFG Tech 1000w Power Supply
MSI Neo2 Platinum 939 Motherboard
AMD Athlon FX-60 Processor cooled with a Thermaltake Golden Orb II
4 x 1GB Corsair XMS DDR400 RAM DIMMs
Sapphire ATi Radeon X1950 Pro AGP (512MB DDR3 RAM)
VisionTek ATi Radeon X1300 PCI (256MB DDR2 RAM)
BFG Tech Ageia PhysX PP1 PCI (128MB DDR3 RAM)
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty (64MB XRAM) with 5.25" I/O Panel
ASUS TV7133 TV-FM Tuner and Video Capture Card

2 x 19" Samsung SyncMaster 931BW Widescreen Monitors

Creative Labs Inspire T5400 5.1 Speakers

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000
Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1
Logitech Attack 3 Joystick
Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle Pro
Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000

Western Digital Raptor 150GB (SATA)
2 x Seagate Barracuda 400GB (PATA)
2 x Sony NEC Optiarc 18X DVD±RW DVD Burners (IDE)
Sony 3.5" Floppy Drive

Western Digital External Passport 120GB (USB)
LG External Super Multi DVD±RAM DVD Burner (USB)
Iomega External Zip-100 Disk Drive (Parallel Port)
SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 Flash Media Reader/Writer (USB)

Notice the AGP?  The rediculous power supply?  The legacy hardware?  There's a lot that doesn't make sense.  Enjoy the pictures:

That keyboard is pretty terrible.  I'm not a big fan of the mouse either.  They're both wireless to about 2 feet.

Limewire and iTunes, used together is best.  Try ripping burned CDs with iTunes for the official track names and artist info.  It make managing your music really easy if you're anal about it.
