I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question. If not please move.

Well, the other day I deceided to run 3DMark06 to see how well my computer/vid card/cpu/etc ran. I received a mark of 546. Is this a good run? What can I do to increase my gaming power other than buy a new card? There is an option to clock my video card in BIOs but only up 4% I believe. Is this something that the good would outway the bad? Thanks for any input.

My Rig:
Processor : Intel Pentium 4 @ 3000 MHz
Mainboard : Intel Corporation D865GBF
Physical Memory : 1536 MB (3200, 400)
Video Card : ATI Technologies Inc Radeon 9600 XT (V350)
AllInWonder 9600XT
Monitor Type : Mitsubishi Electronics V50LCD - 15 inchs
DirectX : Version 9.0c (March 2006)
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Professionnal 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2

If anything else is needed please let me know. Also, I know my board is crap and wont let me OC my CPU, but is is possible to clock my memory/video card any higher. For the video card I mean anything other than through BIOs with the 4%.

Thanks

Brian

you can dowload ati tool from http://techpowerup.com to oc the card, but you get such a low score because you cant run the sm 3 tests, which comprise of about 1500marks if im not mistaken.

pc mark, fear, doom 3, 3dmark 05 (a bit better), any of the benchmarks that hh uses in its reviews should work.

Why do you care about benchmarks? As long as your game performane is good, you shouldn't care.

Well, to tell the truth, I'm not a big gamer. I just wanted to see how mine compares to others. I also tried to use the ATI Tool, but it kept overclocking to a super high speed and making everything I have on my desktop fuzzy. Not cool. I think I may not have configured it right. I will look into it a little later.

By the way, do you guys know of any cool games that a action pack and a legaly downloadable for free?

Yep,

I once played amercias army, it was very realistic and good fun. Think you can still download it for free somewhere... It was made by the US army to employ soldiers

its a cool game, but a big download. and nother the latest graphics. My 9800 128mb runs it a bit too well
