I love my computer but its kinda loud and I've been looking for a new project. I am trying to collect parts for a micro ITX linux box for getting on the internet and watching movies.

My biggest concern here is noise. I'm looking for quiet parts and I saw this today
CF IDE adapter
I was thinking of getting the and a 512MB CF card with a 40GB HDD.
I want a fanless CPU and mini ITX mobo.
I've been reading reviews but if you guys know any makers of silent parts I.E. CD drives let me know.

My budget is about $350 give or take a little.

Remeber that although CF cards are silent they have a finite read/write life span. I'd never use one. Consider a quiet Laptop HD instead with a 3.5 to 2.5mm adaptor.

Yeah, but those mITX boards are so tiny you can put them in just about any kind of mod you want. For surfing and watching DVDs those EPIA boards are great. You can't ask for anything more quiet.
