What the? I was browsing thru HH and I came upon a headline...

"AMD 4800+ X2 Dual Cores"

That is fast. The question is, is it as good as they say it is? I saw the benchmarks comparing it to the Fx-55 and its not that much of a big performance gap (Gaming-wise). I dunno about workstation performance since I'm not in that area of knowledge. Though, paying more than $1k USD seems not worth it if your just playing games.

Bring on AMD 5600+!!!

Of course it's not, it's just like a multi CPU system. Games (curreently) only take advantage of a sigle CPU so thery can only use one core in a dual-core. However, most future games (by future I don't mean games out tomorrow) will be coded for dual-cores. There are obviously huge performance gains using programs written to take advantage of multi CPUs. In day to day use in the mean time though it's just like having Intel's hyper Threading except better.

Is designed for multitasking not gaming.
