My mobo is running fine without them installed, is there anything special that these drivers do? Will it help performance if i install them?

Ok nevermind. I just installed the 4.35's and my 3dmark scores went up 320 points! yay!

They are required for the VIA chipset.

Well the default stuff that comes with Windows works good without installing the 4 in 1's, but as you see it increases your goodness.

I think windows 98 can not support the ATA100 function without the 4 in 1's.

But not positive on that, Ive not used 98 at home since Win2k came out.

Yes install them, they are for the PCI & IDE devices, just don't install the VIA AGP drivers, you need AMD miniport driver for that.
