Do you only have a PCI slot? Not AGP slot?

You can put a PCI graphics card in there and disable the onboard graphics will free up some system RAM too. On-board graphics arn't up to much though. Could you list your full system specs? If you're not sure download CPU-Z (google it) and it will tell you all about your system.

I'm mom is in the same boat as his wife. She has a AGP x1 slot. I think a PCI card would do some good here. Her specs are I think a 800MHz P3 and 128MB Ram.

Just wondering why you are upgrading? Whether it's for games or just to make the system run better you'd probabaly be much better off getting more RAM first of all. What OS is it running?
