Well the new Catalyst is out, Here are the release notes, and you can Click Here for the download page. To answer the questions most of you are probably wondering...

Q: Does it increase D3 Performance?
A: "Doom3 performance improves 10-15% on ATI RADEON" X800 XT products when anti-aliasing is enabled."

Q: Damnit, I don't have the cash for a x800! What about my 9x00 card?
A: "UT2004 performance improves considerably on the ATI RADEON" 9500 PRO, RADEON" 9700 PRO RADEON" 9800 PRO and RADEON" 9800 XT products. The benefit can be 25% or more in some circumstances, particularly at extreme graphics settings such as 6xAA + 16xAF."

Downloaded Catlyst 4.9 yesterday. Played some Doom III and only feeling I had was that is was running slower then with the 4.8 drivers.

I'm getting ATI 9800 PRO pretty soon, shall I just download the Catalyst driver, instead of the one, that comes on CD-ROM ? Will I need to install it first and than plug the card in?
Thanks,
max
