Im new to these forums so Hi all!
I just bought doom 3 and after installing it i tried it out for an hour. I rebootet my PC and a strange thing happened. After detecting the CPU the PC freezes, it doesn't detect any other device and you can't press del to enter the bios. I haven't done any hardware changes for a long time. I've done a little mild overclocking though and I have tried resetting the CMOS without any luck. Im a little frustrated right now as you can imagine. What can be wrong ? Thanks!

My setup:
Athlon Xp2500
Abit NF7
Hercules 9800 Pro
Seagate 120 HD
Geil 1024 MB Ram

Try leaving the PC off for a little bit, maybe reinstall the processor and heatsink, try again?

You wouldn't happen to have another Athlon XP lying around you could try do you?

Thank you!
So this is most likely a CPU problem? I haven't got another athlon CPU to try out. I'll try reinstalling the cpu and will report back.

Ok, I unplugged all my USB cables and now Im a little bit further. The PC now detects my ram and I can press the del key to enter the BIOS. However when my harddrive loads this message is displayed: Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed. The IDE cable is installed and is plugged in correctly. What can this be ?
