Hi,

my laptop is an nec e400 as shown here

It currently has a celeron 1.5ghz cpu in it. but i purchased a 2.0ghz P4-M from ebay recently.

I took the case off yesterday and it doesn't seem too hard to take off the heatsink/fan.

I'd just like to get some of yer opinions and advise on this?
is it even good idea? wil it work?

Thanks.

yeah i looked it up that processor supports the 400 mhz fsb. so you should be fine you might still need to update the bios. but i would doubt it.

heres the link i used to look up the chipset if your looking for it.

so as in what money, elephants, what? fsb maybe yeah but that follows every motherboard. things do become a problem more often in laptops. like heat and this usually leads to other problems.

you really cant upgrade the mobo of a laptop its really probably not going to fit.
