Hi

Been using XP pro a few years now so i know my system speed and how quick my normal shutdown would be.

But recently my shutdown is taking 30 seconds +.
Any idea why or how to fix this without having to install a quick shutdown program?

Thanx

Does it have to shut down any non-responding programs? If so, I would manually end processes before shutting down.

if you have a ton of stuff on your harddrive it takes longer for it to shutdown

Nope

Fairly new install of windows and hardly anything compared to my last time.

I use enditall too so no unresponsive progs.

Yeah, there's something running in the background. I'm sure you've already done so, but have you checked for spyware?
