ooo ATi is awful about support for drivers.

You might go ahead and try installing their Catalyst drivers - it will give you an error in the beginning of the installation if it doesn't like the card.

In a thorough search, you'll see that there are a few people modifying ATi's drivers to enable support for some of the mobility cards...I went through them a long time ago when trying to find updated drivers for the ATi chip in my laptop...but not everything is supported.

I'll do a search and see what I can find.

the regular cats won't work. and the stuff here is a bit out of date:

look in the mobility section..

http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

That utility should allow you to install either the Cats or Omega drivers

I used to have a radeon 9000 mobility and i just manually installed drivers from the driver files extracted from their normal setup. You can do that by going to the hardware manager. I don't know if this will still work with your card but it's worth a shot.

btw: what kind of laptop do you have? Ive have yet to see one with a 2500 and a radeon 9600
