Pardon me for saying but whay are you going from old to old? Athlon is a dead end for sure, no upgrade path. If you want to stay AMD consider a 64bit one so at least you have some upgrade path or built a Intel system and be able to plug in a Prescott when they ship. Buy a Intel P4C 2.6 (for less than AMD 3200) and it will overclock past 3ghz with ease and it will give a +3200 Athlon a nose bleed. When Itel went to FSB 800 and HT the AMD PR rating are not accurate anymore as stock 3.2 P4 badly beats a AMD 3200 (and so will a P4C 3.0ghz, it is really equal to about a P4C 2.6 or 2.8 maybe at best) for what it is worth.

Yeah if you have enough money for a 3200+ go for an Intel setup. I would only recommned a 2500+ to people on a tight budget or looking to overclock for cheap, otherwise go Intel. I would'nt go for 1 of AMD's 64 bit chips yet either. Because the socket will be revised the current mobos have very little upgrade potential.

What is your old mobo? It probably will support that RAM but only if you overclock or get a BIOS update.
